Miss May's Farm

Today I went with Rylee's 1st grade class to Miss May's Farm. It is a great field trip for the kids. They are able to feed and pet the animals (llama's, sheep, goats, pigs, cows, horses), hold the rabbits or hedgehogs, ride a horse, and go on a fun trailer ride. I as able to go with her class last year at Austin as well.

Here are the girls on the trailer ride. At the very end, Miss May gives everyone a roller coaster ride!

Rylee chose to hold the bunny (rather than the hedgehog)

Today, I realized today just how much Rylee has grown up in the last year. I can remember Rylee getting really upset last year that I couldn't ride on the bus with her. This year, she didn't even ask! Last year, she sat in my lap as we ate lunch. This year, she didn't even sit beside me. Yes, I know, as your kids grow up, your kids want less and less to do with you. I remember this phase in my life, and regret every bit of it now. It just breaks my heart, but then at the same time I am excited that we have raised her to be such an independent and smart girl. She makes good decisions and usually knows right from wrong. I'm just saddened by the fact that she has reached the age where she is no longer so dependant on me!

Mother's Day Weekend Get Away

For Mother's Day weekend the kids and I packed the car and headed for New Braunfels! My aunt and uncle live on the river, and needed a little help around the house. I couldn't wait to get there and see Deborah. She and James have worked in the refinery business for years, and really help me when I get frustrated with Justin's work schedule. I did my usual office cleaning while I was there. I am proud to say that the mission was accomplished, and two beds are now set up in the room!
Ryan and Beau were on fire duty. The river has STRICT rules about burning brush.

Rylee even helped pick up the sticks in the front yard
(with a little bribery from Beau)!

Imagine that...Cutter found the lawn mower!

Damian brought the kids to town, and boy were my kids happy.

Here are the twins and Cutter. They were having a hay day on the two queen beds that were pushed together.
Ryder, Colton and Cutter

The girls were playing teacher while the boys were the students. I wonder what grade the girls gave them.

Can you count the number of heads in the hot tub? There's SIX! They all took turns jumping, playing in the waterfall, changing the light colors and sitting on the volcano! It was a circus in there, but they had a blast. I know my two kids slept likes babies Saturday night.

Mother's Day is always a bitter sweet day. I miss my mom like crazy, but am so thankful that I have been blessed with two wonderful children! I didn't get in a hurry to drive home because I didn't want to have sit at home and think about mom all day. So, we got home Sunday night and Dad and Hanaba came by and brought food to cook for dinner. I told Hanaba, I couldn't remember the last time someone cooked for me at my house, and I didn't have to do anything.
I opened the kids presents for me. Rylee made me a beautiful card with lots of things inside. There is a bookmark with her picture and fingerprints on it, so that I will never forget how little she is. There was a "Top 10 Reason's I Love Mom," a letter to me that she wrote all by herself, and all her daily journals from the week that had a finish the sentence about mom. My favorite page was:

My Mom can do many things. I think she's best at...

My Mom is best at working. She dose a lot to help us. She works in the back yard. She also dose bils. But I'd Love her even if she didn't do all that stuff.
Love, Rylee

My Mom is smart. She even knows...

How to make good choses (choices). She also makes time out of her day to play whith us. I love my mom. I am so happy.
Love, Rylee

Rylee, I love you all the way around the world, plus one, infinity! You make me so proud to be your mommy!
Cutter also made me a card at school. His had a hand print flower on the front, and a beautiful butterfly on the inside. He did such an awesome job with the card. Also, one of his teachers (NaNa) took a pictures of each kid and had them framed for each mom! They were so precious. She dressed them in overalls, a hat and a stick fishing pole, and took them to the pond behind the church. I love it!
Cutter, I love you lots baby! I'm so lucky to have such a sweet boy!

Face Painting...with a twist!

Last week I let the kids paint the grandma's Mother's Day presents. As I was unloading the dishwasher, I turn around a find Cutter painting his face.

Then, he picked up his paper, shook his head...

...and WALLA

A beautiful masterpiece!
Cutter's Mother's Day Out had a Mother's Day Tea for all the moms! It was so much fun and hilarious to watch. They sang lots of songs and showed us all the motions they had learned throughout the year!

Cutter was in the middle of the line as his class came on stage, but found a spot to sit, and did just that. He's hard headed...just like his daddy!
Eventually, he found his way to the stage. He's standing right behind his girlfriend, Carsen (in the yellow dress).
Here's Hudson, he's hard headed like his daddy too! He wanted to stand by the big kids, so he made his way over there and played on the railing!

Cutter now decides he wants to be the director!

They sang a song and each kid used their bean bag to help keep the beat. Well, let me take that back...every kid but Cutter did. He decided he didn't want it anymore and threw his into the audience.

Here are the Cutter and Hudson. It was the only picture I could get of the both of them because they obviously had better things to do than stand still!

Here's the whole school!
He's out!
Sorry Hudson, but Krystal got you!

This is Cutter and I with Gretchen and Hudson. The boys didn't want to smile!

Mommy and Cutter! I am so proud of you Cutter, you did an awesome job!

Tractor Days!

We made our weekly Sunday visit to Buster and Karen's last weekend. The entire ride there all Cutter could talk about was driving the Kubota! If you remember from a previous post, he wouldn't drive the golf cart at NaNa's farm because it wasn't a Kubota. So here's his picture telling Nanny all about the Kubota!

Cutter also went and got on all the tractors. He is fascinated by them, and plays with his toy tractors on a daily basis. He has made me take Tractor 101 so that I can call each one by the correct name!

He wanted to drive the John Deere, so up he a Buster climb!

It takes a lot of concentration! Thanks Buster for making his day!

Before dinner, he went and asked Karen for some tennis balls so that he and Buster could play baseball!

Rylee helped Karen plant some flowers from seeds in the green house. By the way, are they supposed to have sprouted by now? I'm not sure if I have watered them enough.

Dyess Airfest!

I promise to try and get better to post more often so I don't have multiple posts in one day, but it's hard to find time and do it. Anyhow, I took the kids to the Dyess Airfest last weekend to see all the planes! The weather wasn't cooperating, so we only got to stay for an hour before the rain came. Poor Cutter, saw the planes and thought we were going to pick up daddy! We can't wait to see you Justin!

Here are the kids in the B-1 Bomber!

Cutter's trying out the seats.

Rylee was bored because she said she remembered it from last year! Such a fun spoiler!

Cutter was trying to figure out what the hook was on the floor was used for.

Rylee sat in the drivers seat, and checked out all the buttons. Cutter was too scared to for some reason.

Two Gold Dollars

Yesterday when I picked Rylee up from school, she came out with a smile from ear to ear! I knew exactly what had to have happened, and sure enough as she got closer, her beautiful smile had a hole! She told me she pulled it out right before snack so that it wouldn't hurt anymore. Now, whether she actually pulled it out or not is another story.

We stopped by Mr. Burger on the way home to get some celebratory ice cream!

She also wanted to clean her tooth for the tooth fairy. I poured some peroxide in a clear glass (Yes, it's a shot glass, but it the only only one I could find. We use plastic cups at our house because I always break the glass ones.) She watched intensly as her tooth bubbled. Cutter was fasinated by the whole process, and keeps trying to pull out his teeth so he can clean his.

Dad, this picture's for you. Remember how my baby teeth had holes in them from all the grinding I did in my sleep? Rylee and Cutter also grit their teeth at night. That's usually how I can tell they are sound asleep. Anyhow, this picture shows the hole in Roo's tooth. Like mother, like daughter!

Rylee is still half asleep in this picutre. She woke up long enough to check under her pillow to see what the tooth fairy left. Look mom,
TWO GOLD DOLLARS!
